1. What makes up your ethnic background?

2. What makes you who you are? What do you love? What do you love to do?

3. What would you like to do in the future?

With this project, I wanted to show everyones identity; what they look like nationality-wise and who they really are. We all have different ethnic backgrounds. We can be stereotyped by other people thinking that we follow certain ways of living, interests, and ambitions just by the way we look. In my photography I want to show you people of different ethnicities. What I’m trying to prove is that just because we look a certain way doesn’t destine you to become something that is stereotypical to your background. Two people of the same ethnic background can have different ambitions; just as two people of different backgrounds can have the same ambitions. The first photo is a portrait, and the next is them with something that they love. I asked them all to fill out an ‘interview’ paper.

My grandpa was a photogapher, as well. He was the head photographer at his high school, Thomas Edison in San Antonio, Texas. His brother, my Uncle Tom, recalls that he started to really get into photography during high school. I think that its awesome that he was photographer. That is one of the reasons that I love photography. His favorite music was jazz and rock and he loved to paint. My Uncle Wilt, his brother, told me stories of him as well. He said that he was the "class cut up, but he was a natural leader." He was known to pull pranks one after the other. When he was sophomore he performed in the school talent show where he sang the song "Donna" by Ritchie Valens, while he played the guitar. In the 8th grade he was required to take a test that would rank the children by their academic potential. He scored the highest in the school. He went to a Catholic elementery and high school until he went to Thomas Eidson for his junior and senior year, where he met my grandma. He majored in Philosophy in college. He was going to be a football player in school, which I think is pretty sweet. His football career was cut short after he was tackled and got a knee injury within the first few practices. He was a running back. Him and his brothers would go to San Pedro Park in Texas on the weekends and play football. I think it's amazing that we have so much in common.
